SELECTING YOUR POTS & PANS

How many are you cooking for?
If there are only one or two people in your household, then you are far better served buying smaller capacity pots and pans to avoid wasting valuable energy and money.
However, if you have a large family to cater for, or do a lot of entertaining, then obviously go for the larger capacity.
What do I need?
The most popular size of saucepans are 14cm (often called a milk pan), 16cm, 18cm and 20cm.
Add a frying pan (with or without lid) and you have the basic requirements to cook a substantial meal for you and your family.

This is an extract from Malcolm Harradine‘s fantastic book “A Kitchen Equipped” which tells you everything you need to know about equipping your kitchen for any culinary requirement.
